UK Nursing Courses

Introduction to Nursing

If you are considering coming to the UK to work as a nurse, it is necessary for you to complete the Overseas Nursing Programme, which allows you to register to work in the NHS or private sector health services.

International students normally undertake the ONP as part of a university International Nursing degree which also provides the opportunity to register with the UK’s Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). During such a 1 year full time course, which can be at undergraduate or postgraduate level, International students will have the option to embark on the ONP. This involves a 400 hour supervised practice placement.
