Duration

You'll receive the full amount in your first year. Payments are made via BACS to a UK bank account at two points in the year, depending on continued satisfactory academic progress.

Eligibility

To apply for our Achievement Scholarship you must:

  • achieve ABB grades or above (128 UCAS points) or an equivalent entry score
  • be a UK or EU student. International students should refer to our International Merit Scholarship
  • be studying full-time, unless there are exceptional circumstances preventing full-time study
  • be starting an undergraduate degree course in September 2019 on our Cambridge, Chelmsford or Peterborough Guild House campuses.

Applicants for our MBChB Medicine are not eligible to apply.

Foundation, extended, degree apprenticeship, distance learning degree programmes and/or CPD and short courses are also excluded.

As well as your academic achievements, we will be assessing:

  • your extra-curricular activities and achievements, for example in the areas of leadership, community service, volunteering or sport
  • your experience; personal or financial hardship.

How we assess your application

Your application will be assessed by a panel of ARU staff and representatives from the Students’ Union. You’ll be ranked based on the details you provide in your application and supporting documentation; we may also invite you to an interview to talk about your application.
